Michigan State University's Lead Based Paint (LBP) Management Program ensures that work practices applied during LBP removal results in safe and healthy environment for all staff, faculty, students and visitors by preventing unsafe exposure to lead. These guidelines must be observed during all phases of work impacting LBP within all campus buildings The project manager and lead abatement contractor must ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state and city regulations, a minimum impact on the environment and the community. The main goal is to protect individuals from exposure to lead based paint hazards through the application of administrative and engineering controls.
EHS provides technical support, training, information, and periodic audits of lead projects to ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
